Paso Robles, California is a small town in San Luis Obispo County, California, USA, located on the western side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, north of Los Angeles. Paso Roble is home to El Paso County's largest and most famous sports stadium, El Pueblo del Paso de Paso, located at the intersection of Interstate 5 and Highway 101 in El Paso, CA, about 30 miles northwest of San Francisco. El Paso de la Paso is the largest sports arena in California and the second largest in North America.

The actual name of the city, Paso de la Robles, is not pronounced as well as one might imagine as a Spanish-speaking person. The city is technically named after the city of El Paso, California, a city in the Central Valley of California. The locals call it simply "Paso" in this charming central valley, but technically it is not. Known for its thermal springs, this area of the Central Coast, known as the El Paso Valley or the Central Coast of Southern California, is a great place for hiking, camping, fishing and other outdoor activities.

Paso de la Robles is located in the Central Valley of California, north of El Paso, and was purchased in 1857 by James Daniel Blackburn. In 1864, the first hotel, El Pueblo del Rio Grande, was built with hot mineral springs and bathhouses. The Southern Pacific Railroad was built in this area in 1886 and the city as we know it today was born. Today, oak leaves, pine trees and other natural resources such as oak trees have left their mark on the region and offer a rich history of famous figures such as Ignacy Jan Paderewski, who brought his family, wife and children to Paso de La Roble.

The first winegrowers in the area were the Padres de Mission San Miguel, and the first wineries in Paso Robles were grouped on opposite sides of the city. The East and West wineries are located on the opposite side of the Paso de la Roble, on the 46 motorway. When SPR arrived in Paso Robles, he was a Kentucky native who had come to California in 1853 to dig for gold. He later returned to a hotel and bought a house on the corner of El Pueblo del Rio Grande and San Miguel streets.
